If you are reading this, you are probably another victim of the xbox 360 blinking red light error AKA the 3 rings of death. Like yourself, I too was looking forward to dominating the rookies in xbox-live, and that's when it happened. I turned on the xbox and the 3 red lights appeared. I was so pissed! So after checking all the wires, resetting it a million times and banging it a few times - still no luck. I then spent over 5 hours on the internet trying different methods, such as the towel wrap which by the way was successful, but didn't exactly look nice nor was it a permanent fix (lasted 15 minutes).

I also called Microsoft. That was a waste of time! They advised me that I had to wait 6 to 8 weeks for another one and also send mine back!(the post office is not exactly close to me either). I later read in an online forum that a guy had received 3 xbox's from Microsoft before they gave him one that worked. There is no way that I'm going to risk 2 to 3 months for an xbox that should be operational at all times. So, with much frustration I finally caved in and purchased a guide I found on the internet to fix the problem called the "X-box 360 Red Light Fix". I was very reluctant to fork over anything for this guide, but noticed later that it was well worth it! I knew nothing about the inside of the xbox, but with the videos and a picture filled guide, I was easily able to fix it in less than an hour. =)
